Cubism

Cubism
In the beginning of the twentieth century, the cubists were interested in the African and Native American art and that how cubism formed. It all began in France in 1907 when Pablo Picasso and George Braque started to paint figures in a form of cubes, spheres, cones and other geometrical shapes. The cubists’ paintings are abstract such as Picasso’s painting ‘The Guitar Player’; it is very difficult to notice that there is a person. At first, the cubists used few colours in their paintings that were brown, grey and blue but Picasso started to use the papier colles in his paintings instead of colours.
