Contemporary Artist



Zhang Jingna

Zhang Jingna known as ‘Zemotion’ is a fashion and beauty photographer. She was born on the 4th May of 1988 in Beijing and she moved at the age of eight in Singapore, where she attened Haig Girls’ School. At age fourteen, Jingna broke a national record of air rifle then she joined the air rifle team. Six years later she broke the record of the commonwealth shooting championships in women’s 10m Air Rifle in Melbourne in 2005 and in 2006 she won a bronze medal in the event of commonwealth games. Two years later, she left Raffles Girls’ School so she can learn fashion design in Lasalle College of the Arts. At age eighteen, she picked up a camera and started to like taking photos and the photography became part of her. In 2007, she left the Lasalle College of the Arts and the rifle team to pursue photography full time. Her work have been seen in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Asia’s Next top model, Photo Vogue by Vogue Italia , L’officiel and even her commercial clients that are Mercedes Benz, Montblanc, Lancome, TRESemme, Pond’s and Canon. This success of her work brought her to shoot in London, Paris, Tokyo and fashion capitals of the world. In 2010, Jingna’s work were displayed in large scale exhibition in Singapore’s premium shopping district .Late May, another gallery solo show ‘Angel Dreams’ was exhibited at Japan creative centre (Singapore) and her photographs were famous because she took photos of a famous Japanese musician Sugizo. Jingna was invited to photograph Sugizo in the Luna Sea’s Tokyo concert. She even photographed a Korean celebrity Rain in 2011. She is influenced by other photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, John William Waterhouse, Yoshitaka Amano and others. Some of Jingna’s works were influenced from the Pre-Raphaelites paintings. Jingna love to work in quite places like Kyoto and Lijianga.
