First Exhibition

The first visit was at St. James Cavallier in Valletta. There was an exhibition about ceramics that were made by George Muscat.

I really found interesting the texture that is on this piece of art because parts of the background are smooth while other parts, where there are the cracks and circles, are rough. In my opinion, it looks like there is a forest that is burning up. I think the artist used the marbling technique.

Here another plate that hasn’t a perfect circle. The artist used very interesting colours such as the red with blue and the yellow with black. The background looks so smooth while there are parts of the plate that are rough and embossed.

In this piece of art I really found interesting the texture. The background is rough while there are some parts that are smooth. In my opinion, it looks like a trunk because the trunk has the same texture as this piece of art.

Although these two plates have the same colours and almost the same pattern but they doesn’t have the same shape. The plate on the left is a perfect circle but the plate on the right isn’t that perfect and this is what I found interesting. I think the texture of the background is smooth and flat while those lines (the patterns) are embossed.

This is made out of raku and each of these faces show the character or the feeling of the people. I found interesting the texture on the people faces. The artist didn’t only put the faces but he put a mirror so whoever is seeing the exhibition can be part of this piece of art.
