Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was born on the 14th July of 1862 in Austria. He is known for decorative style of his work.

The Kiss
‘The Kiss’ by Gustav Klimt shows two people (man and woman) that are at the edge of a meadow covered in flowers. The man in the painting is wearing a gold garment in which spirals are faintly shown and it is decorated in black and white rectangles. He is also wearing a crown of leaves. The woman that is near the man has a round and wavy designs on her dress. In her hair and around her neck, she has flowers.



Jules Cheret

Jules Cheret was born in the year 1836. He was the creator of the modern poster.



La Danse


Cheret created an excellent posters and invented colour lithography which developed printing and advertising.  He created posters for theaters, novels, shows among others. His posters were between the fantasy and reality of colours.
