Romanticism
Romanticism was a movement in art and in literature that it began in the late eighteenth century and developed during the nineteenth century. The romanticism rejected neo-classicism’s rational approaches that were madness, horror, violence and supernatural that’s why the romanticism was against neo-classicism. The romanticism presented different thoughts, imagination, individualism and emotions these characteristics represent the beauty of nature and even the wilderness. Even also they were fascinated by the middle ages and historical sense and legends that were set in the medieval times. Briefly, literature was a huge influence during the neo-classicism era. Late seventeenth century and in the eighteenth century international style which started as a reaction to the prevailing rococo and baroque styles, it revived interest in classical thought, and championed a return to both classical ethical values and aesthetic rigour. Neo- classicism had a very strong impact on architecture.
