The Wanderer above the Sea and Fog

This painting is a good example of romanticism movement. This painting shows a man that is standing at the edge of a rocky cliff and he is looking out over the world. It is incredible how Friedrick managed to show the power of nature and managed to make the viewers feel useless near this power.

Francisco Goya

Francisco Goya was another romanticism painter. He was born on the 30th March of 1746 in Spain. When Goya was a teenager, he began art studies and to advance his skills he went to Rome.

The Third of May

The painting ‘The third of May’ has movement, drama and emotion and these are typical romantic era.  This painting shows the Spanish confront France and the armies of Napoleon. Goya wants to show the side of revolution and the protest in a war.
